Promerits, a leading company in Online Higher Education, offers among its teachings in the field of Psychology, the “University Course of Specialization in COUPLE THERAPY“, which addresses the fundamental aspects of psychotherapy in this area.

It contains a teaching load of 7 ECTS (university credits) that represent 175 hours of training.

This University Course is accredited by the European University Miguel de Cervantes (UEMC) together with PROMERITS and the Spanish Association for the Promotion and Development of Psychotherapy (AEFDP).

In recent years, the number of couples therapy consultations has grown considerably. Psychologists and medical psychotherapists need to have an in-depth knowledge of this field, a task that requires different training from that of individual psychotherapy.

The course aims to teach the professional the therapeutic tools necessary to address the various problems presented by couples in consultation. Starting with an understanding of the mechanisms of couple choice, we will study psychotherapeutic intervention in couple therapy from a systemic-constructivist, psychodynamic, psychodramatic, third generation cognitive-behavioral, motivational, narrative and integrative cognitive-behavioral techniques, as well as their multiple applications in everyday professional practice (for example, analyzing specific cases of jealousy and infidelity). The course incorporates the baggage of the seven previous editions, six of which were conducted in collaboration with the Official College of Psychologists of Madrid. Since 2019, this professional institution accredits this course, which has the special collaboration of the College of Psychology of Cantabria.

For the evaluation in the online modality, the student will have to visualize the classes previously recorded in our virtual platform and complete in each module a questionnaire with development and test type questions, which will be supervised by the assigned tutor.

Undergraduates, graduates in Psychology and/or Medicine, students in their last years of Psychology degree.
