Since the 50’s, Family Therapy has had a great development. From the cybernetic theories, the theory of human communication and the general theory of systems, different schools of family therapy are created, each with their specific techniques and strategies that we will see throughout this course.
There are two important concepts when performing family therapy; the first one is that it is not about applying an individual therapy with several people at the same time, but about working on a system.
The family comes to consultation with an identified subject that brings a series of symptoms. We do not treat those symptoms, we treat the system in which that person is and, on the other hand, there is no single family system: there are many; heterosexual, homosexual, adoptive, single-parent families, etc. and we have to work on their different realities.
Specialized training, taught by professionals of recognized prestige in the field of psychology with extensive experience in online training.
At the end of the course, you will be able to apply for three Certificates/Diplomas, accredited by the European University Miguel de Cervantes (UEMC), Promerits and the Spanish Association for the Promotion and Development of Psychotherapy (AEFDP).
It is 100% Online Training. Students will hav eat their disposal the virtual campus of the UEMC (European University Miguel de Cervantes), where they will find all the study material necessary to pass the course.

Nowadays, Family Therapy is essential not only to treat specific family problems, it is also applied to treat addictions, eating disorders, children’s problems, etc.
In this course we will learn the theoretical and practical bases of family therapy, the different schools, approaches (systemic, psychoanalytic, psychodrama, etc.) and how to apply it in different situations or pathologies.
