Promerits, a leading company in Online Higher Education, offers among its teachings in the field of Psychology, the “University Specialization Course in PERSONALITY DISORDERS”, which addresses the fundamental aspects of Psychotherapy.
It contains a course load of 6 ECTS (university credits) that represent 150 hours of training.
This University Course is accredited by the European University Miguel de Cervantes (UEMC) together with PROMERITS and the Spanish Association for the Promotion and Development of Psychotherapy (AEFDP).
Personality disorders belong to the group of psychopathological pictures, which do not fall under psychosis but can not be considered neurotic pictures, much less “normal” ones. As they are generally not aware of illness, patients do not usually come for consultation unless circumstances necessarily push them to do so.
In addition, thelackof specific training in psychopathology of many mental health professionals means that a large number of people affected are not diagnosed. Indeed, the vast majority of patients are unaware that they suffer from a personality disorder.
In this course, students will begin to become familiar with the explanatory model of the genesis of personality disorders, distinguishing between neurosis, psychosis and personality disorders. We will work from three approaches: description of the disorder (so that students are able to identify it), analysis of its triggers (those environmental, family and social circumstances that may represent the cause of the personality alteration), and an introduction to psychotherapeutic intervention from an integrative model.
At the end of the course, you will be able to apply for three Certificates and/or Diplomas, accredited by the European University Miguel de Cervantes (UEMC), Promerits and the Spanish Association for the Promotion and Development of Psychotherapy (AEFDP).
It is a 100% Online Training. Students will have at their disposal the virtual campus of the UEMC (Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes), where they will find all the study material necessary to pass the course.
A total of 12 classesand 4 additional workshops will be broadcast live via videoconference, the recording of which will be available for viewing at the time chosen by the student.

For the evaluation in the online modality, the student will have to visualize the classes previously recorded in our virtual platform and complete in each module a questionnaire with development and test type questions, which will be supervised by the assigned tutor.
Undergraduates, graduates in Psychology and/or Medicine, students in their last years of Psychology degree.
To understand and analyze the epistemological bases and origin of contextual therapies.
Design intervention plans, selecting the most appropriate contextual therapies for each patient.
Apply the different therapeutic processes of contextual therapies in the professional performance of clinical psychology.

Psychologist with health habilitation, member M-14471. Expert in adult and family intervention, intervention in anxiety, affectivity, mistreatment, violence and sexual abuse, coordination and management of individualized and group support programs for families and children, family and couple mediation, and training of professionals. Teacher at ISEP (Instituto Superior de Estudios Psicológicos), teaching in several postgraduate programs: Master in Clinical and Health Psychology, in Child and Adolescent Psychology, in Clinical Sexology and Counseling Therapy, in Third Generation Therapies and application of New Technologies, in Early Childhood Care and Learning Difficulties.
