University Specialization Course in

Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents

Promerits, a leading company in online higher education, offers among its teachings in the field of Psychology, the “University specialization course in PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS”, which addresses the key and basic aspects of psychotherapy.

The objectives of the course include knowledge and understanding of the development and functioning of the human psyche and the formation of the personality, how normal development is and what type of circumstances can give rise to the various psychopathological entities in order to intervene on them through the various psychotherapeutic techniques, taking into account the setting, first interviews, diagnostic evaluation, case evaluation, therapeutic objectives, treatment, intervention techniques and therapeutic tools.

At the end of the course, you will be able to apply for three Certificates/Diplomas, accredited by the European University Miguel de Cervantes (UEMC), Promerits and the Spanish Association for the Promotion and Development of Psychotherapy (AEFDP).

At the end of the course, you will obtain three Certificates and/or Diplomas accredited by the European University Miguel de Cervantes (UEMC), the Spanish Association for the Promotion and Development of Psychotherapy (AEFDP).

  • Psychodynamic development of the personality: the child, his family and environment. Normal child development: phases and positions. Sexuality in the child: psychosexual development. Infantile attachment.
  • Psychodynamic psychotherapy techniques: advances in psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy: the playroom, playtime, clinical material for the analysis of the different phases of the assessment and intervention process: the first interview and type of demand. Diagnostic interviews and playtime, the clinical history, return interview and therapeutic objectives for the intervention.
  • Humanistic psychotherapy techniques: advances in psychodramatic psychotherapy with children and adolescents: psychodrama techniques with children and adolescents. Role playing, dramatization, family atom, concretization, repair and reconstruction of affective deficiency.
  • Systemic and family psychotherapy techniques: advances in systemic family therapy with children and adolescents: strategies and techniques of systemic intervention and clinical examples. Family therapy with children associated with the life cycle and from parenthood.
  • Cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy techniques: advances in cognitive-behavioral therapy in children and adolescents: from behavior modification to third-generation cognitive-behavioral and integrative therapies, and narrative-motivational approach.

For the evaluation in the online modality, the student will have to visualize the classes previously recorded in our virtual platform and complete in each module a questionnaire with development and test type questions, which will be supervised by the assigned tutor.

Graduates in Psychology and/or Medicine and students in the last years of their Psychology Degree.
